Foundations for Successful Living has been providing Supported Employment services as a DVR vendor and through the SLS waiver since February 2016. The growth and success that we have witnessed in our clients allows us to further realize our goal of helping our clients to reach their highest potential.
We are pleased to welcome Kamilah Keyes-Brown to our Supported Employment team as the new Supported Employment Program Director. Kam has provided direct support to FSL clients over the past year, and is eager to expand the job opportunities for our clients in the community. She is excited to speak with anyone that is interested in supported employment services, and we are excited for you to get to know Kam!
“Hi everyone! My name is Kam Keyes-Brown but because I feel like I know you— you may call me “Kam”. A few things that you may want to add to your list of things about me is my passion for laughter. If you can make me tear up while laughing then we are now besties. I am originally from New York City, so you can be assured I have seen some interesting and funny things in my lifetime. Being from the Big Apple has allowed me in being exposed to so many different cultures, backgrounds and art forms. I love music! I know, I know…. What’s your favorite music Kam? I don’t have one because I just about love it all. You can catch me wiggling my leg to just about anything. My parents exposed me to all sorts of music.
My parents emigrated to the U.S from France and the Dominican Republic. Why thank you for asking, I do speak Spanish and French fluently. You should hear me at home speaking to my kids and teaching my granddaughter. When I’m not at work and caring about others, you can catch me using my down-time for reading, swimming, biking, and watching sports. So, you heard me say “down-time.” Yup, I am retired military and I can promise you, this will not be the last time you will hear military lingo creep into our conversations. Now that you have a few more things added to your Kam List, I want to ‘thank you’ for taking the time to visit me and it was nice to meet you all!”
